Peasblossom

60B46F3B-607B-4BA1-A531-0CE5A94444AD.jpg

"I’ll give thee fairies to attend on thee,
And they shall fetch thee jewels from the deep
And sing while thou on pressèd flowers dost sleep.
And I will purge thy mortal grossness so
That thou shalt like an airy spirit go.—
Peaseblossom, Cobweb, Mote, and Mustardseed!
"

-William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream

Made as a prop for a stage tech class, she lights up and is constructed with posable arms and a fixed position lower body, to allow her to sit on a hypothetical actor's shoulder.

Premier Clay, Armature Wire, Thin Elastic, Jewelry Wire, Ribbon, Fabric, False Eyelashes, Acrylic Paint, Clear Nail Polish, Fake Flowers, Mohair, Battery Powered Fairy-lights, Hot Glue, Gorilla Glue Gel, Sealing Spray

Fun Fact! I have been in Midsummer three times (once as Peaseblossom), and the doll's flower crown is made from my 4th grade fairy costume!

Elaine + Sylvie

"Sylvie often complains of her cousin's old fashioned ways. Elaine has little interest in the bright lights and loud music of the human world, preferring retreat to the comfort of the old green places yet untouched by the soft and careless children of the digital age"

"She moved through the world like a fallen queen, battle weary, regal, old as time. There was a time, she remembered, when she shone with all the colors of her galaxy. She was bone white now, from head to toe, excepting a crimson streak in her thin hair. A bloody remnant."

She was originally intended to be Nina Zenik from the Six of Crows duology, but the idea changed because I dropped the project for a while and picked it up again while I was working on a production of Macbeth. The red thread is a nod to that production.

Áine Pearl

"I think everyone else is in this big adventure story and Áine Pearl is in a dramatic romance novel"

Fun Fact! Áine Pearl is one of my Dungeons and Dragons characters, she's a silly little bard. Canonically that violin should be a mandolin but we take what we can get when it comes to convenient Barbie accessories. Technically she does have proficiency with violin :)

Drusilla Sluagh

"Dru really was 'I worship a dark god, I am definitely going to end up as a villain, but I will also protect my little rich friend with my life so back off'."

-Excerpt from conversation in my DND group chat

Odette Moonshade

"Average “girl who lost everything and burned down their childhood home leaving behind her past to track down a weird mystery but also still likes shiny pretty things” type of situation. Not like other girls, you know, because of the horrors :)"

-Excerpt from Odette's character sheet

Fun Fact! Odette is my third and final DND doll, she's a rogue and her cat is definitely not really a cat.
